Meditation, Good for Your Soul...and Your Gut!

Meditation is a training method for the mind and a relaxation tool for your body. It has been practiced for thousands of years, but recent studies show even more positive effects it can have on the body.

Meditation is not just for relaxation. It can also help to lower blood pressure and heart rate, lessen stress and depression, and improve IBS pain.

Research has linked mindful meditation to improvements in IBS. A 3-month study showed that meditation was effective in treating the psychological factors associated with pain in IBS.

So, where should you start? Well, you can start off with a nice and easy 2-3 minute meditation each morning, and work your way up. It is advised to do 20 minutes of meditation a day to feel the full effect, but do not be intimidated, everyone goes at their own pace.

It is important to find the right method for you.

There are many methods to accomplish your meditation goals, not just sitting on a mat. It can be done through yoga, tai chi, qigong, and walking meditation. There are instructional videos and classes you can take if you need a boost to get started.

Find the right method for you!
